The Sourcing team starts at the very earliest stages of product development, builds out the costing models and tracks where product stands at every step in the production cycle, from overseas shipping to our import warehouses, distribution centers and stores. As a Close-to-Business Senior Sourcing Manager in Baby & Pets you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including Target Merchants, Planners and Product Design and Development to turn ideas into the merchandise on our stores' shelves and on our online channels. You will own development of sourcing strategies with a focus on global balance, matrix optimization, Target Forward & Sustainability goals, and Target's financial plans. To do this, you will determine appropriate operating model and drive sourcing strategies that align to business goals and critical category needs.

You will lead building value-driven negotiation strategies to achieve financial goals. You will be responsible for partnering with worldwide sourcing peers, Quality Assurance, and Responsible Sourcing to deliver high-quality, responsibly sourced products at a great value to our guests.

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of relevant sourcing or merchandising experience
• Demonstrated leadership skills including strategic thought and critical thinking
• Ability to work with varying groups of people across the company to achieve business results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Strong analytical and financial skills
• Ability to prioritize among competing deliverables and collaborate with and influence a broad group of partners and stakeholders
• Ability to travel as needed

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
