About the Role

The Senior Commercial Program Manager is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing all commercial program deliverables in a highly regulated environment. You will be expected to effectively communicate and inform key stakeholders and customers throughout various program activities to maintain timelines and deliverables and effectively utilize company project management methodologies and tools. You will also manage the Commercial Project Group, who is responsible for supporting all programs once they are in the Commercial phase, as well as manage key business accounts.

Responsibilities

• Ability to understand complex and scientific workflows or tasks

• Provide high quality customer service for several commercial accounts/programs

• Develop strong business relationships with customers

• Solicit, receive, upload and manage customer POs

• Build, distribute and revise internal manufacturing work orders and other ERP requirements as necessary all the way through shipping and invoicing of finished goods

• Track and assess all change of scope items and ensure both internal and external teams understand the cost, quality, and timing impact of these changes

• Build and share Out-of-Scope (OOS) work proposals

• Work closely with program Key Account Manager (KAM) on customer interfacing activities

• Lead meetings to balance competing priorities (within and among programs) and provide strong understanding and collaboration on behalf of the company

• Recommend and lead appropriate, respectful intervention with customer and company personnel to ensure they are accountable for agreed deliverables necessary for project success; strong conflict resolution skillset

• Collaborate with Materials Manager, Process Engineer, Purchasing and KAM to effectively manage program material purchase, inventory, and disposition at the company

• Delegate activities related to Shipping, Accounting, etc, to team members as appropriate

• Effectively communicate with internal and external customers project information, progress, and challenges in a professional manner including regular status updates

• Quickly identify and address critical path activities

• Escalate issues and risks with significant impacts to project timelines and/or the business relationship

• Demonstrate interpersonal influence and leadership to schedule, manage, and evaluate program activities through, and with, internal and external functional groups

• Ensure that company and industry project management methodologies and tools are being utilized consistently and effectively, including but not limited to:

• Generating program and project timelines using Microsoft Project, Excel, etc

• Creating meeting agendas

• Creating and updating project task lists

• Taking and publishing meeting notes

• Tracking all project activities including work orders, tooling, materials, and billing

• Help schedule resources for customer visits and audits; manage customers while on site

• Deal directly with customers and internal teams to resolve issues related to individual Statements of Work for the program, material inventories, material ordering and disposition, billing and customer complaints

• Work collaboratively with accounting to track and fulfill purchase orders and invoices

• Establish working relationships with external vendors and labs

• Schedule and facilitate commercial phase reviews as necessary

• Manage customer requests and needs related to product packaging and design, which may involve other company functional departments

• Drive program activities to successful completion while keeping the overall program on time, within scope, and of high quality

• Manage Commercial Project Team; responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting individual program issues, monthly 1:1 reviews, semi-annual and annual performance reviews, mentoring and guidance, and PTO coverage

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, operations management, or science related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and/or customer service role

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in pharmaceuticals or GMP manufacturing environment

• 3+ years of experience in department management and managing direct report
