Associate Decision Scientist

Best Buy has an opening in Richfield, Minnesota for an Associate Decision Scientist position. Perform basic analytics using scientific methods that rely upon mathematics, statistics, and hypothesis testing. Document the engagement goals and the proposed analysis approach. Answer business related questions regarding the data used and limitations of the data. Write code to explore datasets. Extract and transform data from multiple sources for data analysis, modeling, and reporting. Identify relationships and trends in data. Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy. Present statistical and nonstatistical results and report results of statistical analyses. Perform data integration. Collaborate with cross functional business teams. There are multiple positions available. Requires Master's degree or equivalent foreign degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, plus at least 1 year of experience with (1) applying analytical techniques to solve business related problems; (2) writing code with programming languages (SAS, SQL, Python, and/or R); and (3) managing geospatial workflows using Alteryx.
