JOB POSITION: Lead Forecast Analyst
LOCATION: 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403
DUTIES: Oversee and deliver Sales and Operations Planning Forecasts, visibility/metrics/reporting and analytics programs by leading the design of new statistical and algorithmic capabilities and predictive analytics required for forecast accuracy. Lead the implementation of solutions in current and future business problems using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and machine learning techniques and statistics. Establish statistical foundation for operational planning to provide visibility and reporting on forecast accuracy across supply chain. Collaborate with enterprise data experts from business intelligence teams across the organization to seek, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use new data elements. Define and interpret problems and provides solutions using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and machine learning techniques and statistics. Identify areas to leverage data by creating better forecasts and increasing granularity of existing forecasts. Use mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills to drive advanced data models and analytic solutions. Leverage data for data mining, modeling, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis, Communicate verbally and in writing regarding statistical analysis for stakeholders. Partner with Merchandise, Inventory, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure the consensus planning process delivers workable volume forecasts and achievable commercial plans. Work as a crossfunctional partner in identifying and articulating data outliers, root cause analysis, and specific improvement activities or initiatives. Document and communicate "best practice" methods, processes, and ideas. Lead corporate initiatives aimed at improving current business processes related to statistics and mathematical modeling. Resolve statistical and mathematical problems using Microsoft Excel, including formulas, v-lookups, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and professional commercial charts. Uses: R, SQL, Python, Domo, Hadoop, Predictive Modelling. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: At least a Master's degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, or a closely related quantitative field and at least three (3) years of experience in data analytics (any title), including driving advanced data models to expose supply chain problems for a fortune 500 business; executing data mining, modeling, and statistical analysis; engaging in root cause analysis and identifying data outliers; working with cross-functional partners in inventory, finance, and supply chain; creating forecasts for inventory management purposes; and utilizing R, SQL, Python, Domo, Hadoop, and Predictive Modeling. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.
