The Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Human Services is seeking candidates for a tenure-track, full-time, 9-month academic year faculty position starting August 19, 2024. The successful candidate will be passionate about and committed to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive learning environment. The appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level and rank will be determined at time of hire commensurate with the successful candidate's academic preparation and experience. The Department supports a variety of contemporary teaching modalities including in-person, blended, and distance learning environments. Summer work coordinating the social work certificate program is anticipated with the option to teach summer courses.

- Doctoral degree in Social Work (DSW or Ph.D.) or related social science field with an MSW from a CSWE accredited graduate program
- ABD will be considered if doctoral degree is conferred within two years of employment start date.
- One year post MSW social work practice experience
- Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education or potential to develop teaching excellence
- Evidence of established scholarly productivity or potential to develop professional and scholarly productivity
- Potential to lead and coordinate the social work certificate program
- Online teaching ability and interest
- Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to cultivating a work environment and student experience that embraces inclusion
We are a teaching-focused campus. Faculty will teach in-person, online/distance, and blended modalities using a variety of instructional technology. Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty governance, curriculum development, recruitment, student academic advisement, scholarly research, program-level assessment of student learning, professional service activities and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.
The successful candidate will teach social work classes, supervise field placements, and teach other human services courses as needed by the department. They will lead and coordinate the social work certificate program, demonstrate commitment to a generalist social work practice focusing on inclusion, gender, aging, mental health, and other issues. They will engage in ongoing student-centered instruction, advisement, and assessment of student learning; scholarly activity including research, publication, and grant-writing; and university, professional, and/or community service. They will collaborate across disciplines and work well with others in an interdisciplinary department, contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes. The successful candidate must obtain WI Social Work Licensure within one year of hire.DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
