The Business Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout seeks individuals with an expertise in Accounting, a passion for teaching, an inquisitive disposition for research, and leadership skills to fill one tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in August of 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required:
- Have one of the following by employment start date:
- Master' s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or closely related field plus five (5) years of relevant professional experience
- Terminal degree (Ph.D, DBA) in relevant field or ABD with a firm completion date
- An active CPA or active CMA required by employment start date
- Evidence of potential for teaching excellence
- Demonstrated interest in advancing student learning in area of Accounting
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA)
- Commitment to cultivating a work environment and student experience that embraces inclusion
Note: A terminal degree is required for promotion above assistant professor, unless by special exception process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach, develop and revise undergraduate courses in Accounting, application software for spreadsheets and databases. Additional courses could include Accounting for Management Decisions, Cost Accounting and Tax Accounting. Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online, undergraduate courses according to departmental instructional plans.
Faculty members are expected to participate in shared governance, curriculum development, recruitment, student academic advisement, scholarly research, program-level assessment of student learning, professional service activities and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
In this position, you will be a valued member of the Business Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The department houses the Business Administration and Supply Chain Management programs and prepares students for careers in a variety of industries as well as government and non-profits. In addition to the programs housed in the department, faculty contribute to the Stout Core, our general education program, as well as supporting other programs within the School of Management.
The Department of Business is one of eight departments within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Management and delivers courses that serve 20 undergraduate majors, including bachelor' s degrees in business administration; Fashion and Retail; and Supply Chain Management, The Department of Business currently has 13 full-time faculty members and typically offers 50 different courses.
