Description: The pay range is $126,600.00 - $227,900.00

About the role:
As a Lead Content Designer within our Content Design Team, you'll be at the forefront of Target's evolving digital experience, shaping it for our guests and contributing to business growth. You will use language and design thinking to help transform the way Target communicates with its digital guests. You'll be tackling big questions around how guests engage with content on some of Target's most visible experiences, advocating for the guest's needs and the power of Content Design along the way.
As a Lead on the Target UX team you will play a crucial role in driving the product operating model, ensuring that our designs align with user needs, business objectives, and technological feasibility. You will rely heavily on collaboration and cross-functional partnerships.

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.

Responsibilities:
- Develop content design for guest-facing experiences, synthesizing Target's tone and voice, guest needs, business requirements, and principles of UX.
- Test, iterate, learn, and implement learnings into future projects as well as bringing them to a larger audience via style guides and cross-functional collaborations.
- Act as a strategic thought leader in your space, proactively identifying and pursuing content opportunities within and across products.
- Track the end-to-end communication flow and partner with stakeholders in service of consistency and cohesion.
- Advocate for guest communication needs and priorities within the user experience team and beyond.
- Conduct user experience research independently and in collaboration with the UX research team.
- Help lead content-centered critiques, workshops, and skill development opportunities and mentor more junior members of the content design team.
- Build a network of relationships to enable your vision in service of our guest experience and Target as a whole
About you:
- 7+ years experience as a senior or lead content designer with a portfolio showcasing your passion for language and commitment to UX principles
- You thrive at the intersection of content strategy, scaled solutions, and craft
- Expert skills in UX and content design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
- Curiosity about the intersection of language and design in user experience and interest in exploring the boundaries of both
- Advanced strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set your direction and communicate your approach and articulate your decisions
- You balance the need for near-term solutions and long-term vision
- Exhibit a growth mindset
- Proficient in design tools (i.e. Figma)
