JOB POSITION: Senior Engineer

LOCATION: 7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

DUTIES: Design and develop software applications and apply appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems; design and implement REST microservices application to centralize enterprise segmentation and store designations; perform design and timely delivery of the application; collaborate with team on software release; apply software engineering patterns and programming expertise to build high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with broad commercial impact (high throughput and low latency); identify development issues, brainstorm solutions, and recommend changes for optimal functionality; apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized areas of Target's technology domain; evaluate new technologies and participate in software decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target's technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership; lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of software services; use technical problem-solving skills to influence team software decisions and help software teams triage operational issues; leverage engineering experience to eliminate repeat occurrences of software problems; and communicate technical information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical Target team stakeholders and communicate Agile concepts to partners within Target development teams. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires at least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in requirement analysis, design, and coding implementation (any title) working on application development, production support and maintenance of applications, code review, requirement estimation, mentoring team members, and using Java, REST API, Spring, Spring MVC, Web Services, React JS, and at least one (1) year of experience developing enterprise-level platforms and using WebFlux, Cassandra, Kafka, Gradle, and Git.
