Machine Learning Scientist

Best Buy Co., Inc., headquartered in Richfield, MN, has opening for a Machine Learning Scientist. Apply machine learning knowledge to contribute to building machine learning driven products. Engage w/business partners, product mgrs, & developers to clarify reqts & identify business problems or objectives. Contribute production quality code implementing batch, streaming, real time machine learning models. Apply algorithms to validate effectiveness of new machine learning models & impr in cust. experience or business metrics. Mine large data to glean actionable insights & recommend data-driven solutions. Use prog languages/technologies, such as Python, C++, Java, in analyses and machine learning. Position based out of Best Buy headquarters and offers a telecommuting benefit, allowing employee to work anywhere in continental U.S. Requires: Master's degree in Comp Science, Info Science, Info Systems, IT, Mathematics, Comp Info Systems, or related quantitative field, plus 1 yr. of experience with 1) hands-on building machine learning products; 2) using high performance machine learning libraries and/or deep learning frameworks; 3) applying design and implementation with general purpose programming languages of Scala, Swift, C++, and Java to identify and propose solutions to business problems; 4) using Python or R; and 5) applying machine learning and algorithmic modeling to at least one of the following areas: supervised and unsupervised learning methods, reinforcement learning, signal processing/ time series modeling, deep learning, or graphical modeling. Pay ranges from $96,283.00/yr to $129,147.00/yr. Best Buy offers standard benefits offered to fulltime employees.
