Description: The pay range is $85,500.00 - $153,900.00

About the Job:

As a Sr Data Analyst on the Stores Product Operations team, you will fuel continuous innovation and drive business performance via measurement, visualization and analytics. You will impact stores product workstreams that require robust data collection, measurement and analysis-ultimately leading to quicker and more meaningful decision-making at Target and a better experience for our Team Members and Guests. This is a role for someone passionate about store's experiences, product, data, and business strategy. You will be responsible for aligning product data needs and prioritizing work to source and land product usage data, creating and visualizing product metrics, as well as performing data analysis and product monitoring. You will act as a liaison with Product Managers to iterate and enhance existing product capabilities. Your focus on the use of data to tell a story will enable teams to better understand how their products are serving the needs of their users and delivering on intended business value.

As a Sr Data Analyst - Store Product Analytics you will:

  • Champion Target's data-driven culture, working closely with Product and Engineering teams, to advocate for the use of insights that will direct product efforts towards initiatives with the highest impact.
  • Work with product managers and analysts to design measurement plans, analyze product performance, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering data analytics and data sciences to source and land data for emerging needs
  • Develop metrics, dashboard, reports, and statistics to derive actionable insight from data to influence business and product decisions
  • Perform data analysis to identify themes/trends to new opportunities to improve user experience and business metrics
  • Analyze underlying trends to identify potential product issues and improvements to the existing product features.
  • Perform statistical analysis as needed
  • Perform descriptive statistics including mean, variance, median, correlation
  • Apply insights and testing in partnership with business users
  • Partner with cross functional teams in all phases of the product lifecycle with a focus on consultation about how data is used to make decisions.

About you:
  • BA/BS in a quantitative degree - Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science or
    equivalent work experience
  • 2-5+ years relevant experience in reporting and data visualization
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL and Python
  • Extensive exposure to: visualization, coding, business consulting, database
    architecture, data mining, statistical analysis, and collaboration with business partners
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to learn, use, and teach reporting tools
  • Understand BI and Data dependencies
  • Demonstrate Testing and Research design; apply the scientific method and
    experimental design; generate insight from observation data
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed
    education
  • Proven experience quickly adapting to changing priorities and tasks
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships


Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement:
  • This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
