Target's Global UX team is a group of design, research, and accessibility practitioners and experts, with a passion for improving and innovating our digital experiences for Target's guests, team members, and partners. Here, we pride ourselves on designing tangible, inspiring, and impactful solutions that serve all aspects of our business- and being a part of the team means you will play a critical role for Target's digital experience by increasing ease, simplicity, value, and delight for every touchpoint.

About the role:

As a Director Product Design of our Help me Find What I Need & Confidence to Buy teams, you'll be at the forefront of Target's evolving digital experience, shaping it for our guests and contributing to business growth. You will focus on the experience vision and strategy for AI-driven, multi-category search landing and product details experiences within our full-funnel digital journey.

To bring meaningful guest journeys and experiences to life, you will think both holistically, pragmatically, and through the lens of innovation while holding a high bar for craft and quality. You will establish and maintain India and US-based relationships with cross functional partners across product, engineering, data science, and other business areas while setting the vision and owning the UX of multiple programs. You are proactive, curious, ask questions, and are driven to connect the dots. As the leader of complex, nuanced space, you will seek to co-create strategies with cross-functional partners and teams across the enterprise and believe we are better together. You are an excellent communicator, skilled at explaining design recommendations to non-design stakeholders, and are comfortable advocating for both UX and the guest. You have a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence across multiple levels of executive leadership including Senior Directors, VPs, and other senior leaders when needed.

You understand guest needs, omni-channel retail, and the role that UX plays in driving engagement, loyalty, delight, and trust while delivering business results. You will use human-centered design thinking, service design, and tried-and-true design craft principles to understand and prioritize guest needs, establish near and long-term design strategies, and deliver a best-in-class guest experience for Target.
In this role, you will hire, coach, and guide a team of approximately 10 - 15 team members to elevate individual and overall team performance. You are an experienced and compassionate leader to team members, helping them to grow and develop new skills. You have a proven track record of design leadership and inspire your teams to have a pulse on experience and innovation trends and the technological landscape, while embracing a test and learn approach to drive a pragmatic and results oriented culture to your team.
