ABOUT YOU

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is production floor support. Assist injection molding, precision machining and cleanroom operations in troubleshooting manufacturing process, equipment and automation issues to maintain production continuity
  • Evaluate, monitor and improve manufacturing processes, work cell layout and flow, working instructions, manufacturing aids and related fixturing/tooling to minimize manufacturing disruptions and achieve lowest defect levels, product costs and labor
  • Effectively lead and/or participate as part of cross functional teams focused on the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects aimed at improving quality, reducing cost, and/or reducing lead times
  • Perform cost feasibility and ROI studies as required, for improvement projects
  • Demonstrate the proficient use of statistical based engineering principles in problem solving and CI activities
  • Effectively manage project budgets and timelines, meeting all quality requirements
  • Effectively maintain and communicate project status, action items and timing for key initiatives assigned
  • Assist Quality Engineering group in performing Root Cause Analysis and generation of written responses to customers requests for corrective action
  • Review, recommend solutions, and actively manage engineering-related product quality concerns
  • Maintain expertise in minimum of 3 to 4 of the following processes: injection molding, precision machining, automation assembly, tooling and/or secondary operations
  • Be a key resource in assignment activities requiring knowledge of standard principles and techniques

 

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage product revisions based on customer print revisions or changes
  • Manage and coordinate PFMEA activities to ensure the supply chain is not interrupted
  • Facilitate and ensure on-time delivery of first article parts and validation reports
  • Review and approve all major manufacturing processes used on a project
  • Assist estimating staff during the re-quoting process on legacy parts
  • Suggest new technologies or processes to assure that Company retains its ability to provide innovative engineering solutions

 

Customer Relations Responsibilities:

  • Notify and/or work with customer on repairs, refurbishments, and/or tool replacements
  • Support Sales staff during customer meetings by defining and clarifying technical aspects of project
  • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within Company and customer

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum requirement is BS in engineering or equivalent
  • 5 plus years experience in precision manufacturing

 

Preferred Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of secondary manufacturing processes such as ultrasonic welding, plastic bonding, pad printing, laser marking, etc.
  • Knowledge and application of statistics and SPC
  • Comprehensive knowledge of blue print reading and GD and T
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple projects/task simultaneously
  • Six Sigma Green Belt training
