In Corporate Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to play a critical role in enhancing and protecting Target's brand and enabling growth across the business. The Lead Risk Consultant role is an individual contributor responsible for managing programmatic application and content development for developing areas of risk. This includes performing risk assessments, conducting internal and external research on root causes, and providing ongoing risk monitoring and reporting. The role will engage a wide range of internal leaders (Officer+), cross-functional partners, and subject matter experts across the company. The role will be critical to facilitating the continuous improvement of Target's Enterprise Risk Management program, managing key partnerships, and supporting risk-based planning and decision support.

- Lead the risk management cycle for a portion of the risk portfolio, including risk identification, assessment, ongoing risk monitoring and reporting, and response plans
- Conduct internal and external research on the root causes and key indicators associated with the risks and monitor these developments
- Partner closely with peers and colleagues on the Enterprise Risk & Reputation Management team to identify and understand dependencies across all risks
- Maintain relationships with subject matter experts in different Target business units to understand objectives and to obtain internal and external data related to the risk portfolio
- Develop work product for Target leaders and executives, including visualization of data and executive ready PowerPoint presentations
- Perform special projects, analyses and studies to increase Target's understanding and awareness of specific risks
- Provide ongoing risk reporting to business partners to assist in planning and decision making, and ad-hoc assessments to assist business partners with point-in-time decisions
- Other duties as assigned
About You:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- BS/BA in a business-related field, Master's degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience with the automation and visual representation of data a plus
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Ability to analyze complex issues, drive structure out of ambiguity, connect dots across disparate data points, and identify key risk factors that may impact the enterprise
- Experience working across diverse capabilities and business functions, and ensuring alignment with key enterprise planning functions to mitigate risk
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, and experience presenting to senior level leaders and groups
- Ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with leaders across all levels
- Effective at drawing out multiple perspectives, offering dissenting points of view, and navigating diverse perspectives
- Strong drive for results with the ability to handle multiple issues at once
- Naturally curious learner with a client service focused attitude
