Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial statement preparation, review, analysis and reconciliation, comparison of actual financial results to the budget, and external audit work paper preparation. This role will act as a subject matter expert in Capital and Fixed Assets.

Senior Accountant Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares and analyzes financial statements for entities owned and managed by Ecumen.
  2. Acts as the subject matter expert in specialty areas (Sales Tax, Capital and Fixed Assets, etc.), ensuring project requests are approved according to policy and partner with business owners by assisting with questions, concerns and training on policy and process.
  3. Partners with operations and other internal/external departments on month-end close process, policy, questions, concerns and training.
  4. Prepares monthly journal entries and reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts (i.e., debt, benefit reserves) and partners with business owners to review on a regular and timely basis.
  5. Prepares work papers and reconciliations and provides information that supports the annual financial audits.
  6. Mentors Accountants and acts as a resource in month end close, financial statement preparations, etc. Assists with review of monthly financial statements and Ecumen invoices prepared by Accountants and ensures identified issues are resolved in a timely manner. Assists with questions, concerns and training.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
  • 4 years of related accounting experience
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) and related technologies
  • Strong detail orientation with a high degree of accuracy
  • Microsoft Office experience; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of G.A.A.P.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oracle cloud experience
  • Non-profit, senior living and/or healthcare experience
