MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST

Essentia Health, Inc. seeks a full- time Medical Lab Scientist based in Virginia, MN. Responsible for performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels, as defined by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries. Req: Bachelor's degree or equiv in Medical Laboratory Science or a rel. field & 3 yrs. rel. exp. Must also have 24 months of exp.: performing high complexity testing on patient specimens using manual methods & automated analyzers in all sections of lab.; performing specimen collection, identification process & procedures to facilitate simple to complex diagnostic tests; executing & analyzing tests in areas incl. Chemistry, Hematology, Clinical Microscopy, Urinalysis, Molecular Testing & Blood banking; must possess certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Medical Technologist (ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA); & participating in Quality Assurance, Quality control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance & troubleshooting.
