LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Essentia Health, Inc. seeks a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist based in Virginia, MN. Responsible for performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels, as defined by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries. Req: Bachelor's degree or equiv in Medical Laboratory Science or a rel. field & 3 months rel. exp. Must also have exp.: performing high complexity testing on patient specimens using manual methods & automated analyzers in all sections of lab.; executing & analyzing tests in areas incl. hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, molecular testing, clinical microscopy & blood banking; must possess certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Medical Technologist (ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA); participating in Quality Assurance, quality control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance & troubleshooting; & performing specimen collection, identification process & procedures to facilitate simple to complex diagnostic testing.
