Position Information The Agricultural Policy and Trade Research Institute (http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/aptri) at North Dakota State University invites applications for a full-time position as Program Manager and Communications Specialist. This position is crucial for managing our complex portfolio of federally funded research projects and enhancing the visibility of the Institute’s impactful work through strategic communication efforts.
Manage project logistics from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and project scopes. Coordinate team activities to achieve project objectives, facilitating inter-project collaboration and resource sharing. Oversee human resources functions, including hiring, training, and processing payroll, ensuring optimal team performance. Conduct financial management, including budget forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, ensuring spending aligns with grant conditions and university policies. Develop and implement marketing strategies to effectively promote the Institute’s research initiatives and policy impacts. Manage the production of promotional materials and oversee digital communication platforms, ensuring consistency in public messaging. Handle public relations efforts and ensure all communications meet funding agency requirements. Assist the Institute Director in strategic planning and daily operations. Foster an environment of cooperative and positive working relationships within the team and with external partners. Advertised Salary:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Proven experience in project management and marketing, preferably within an academic or research environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with financial management and human resources in a project context. Demonstrated expertise in managing federally funded projects, with a strong understanding of compliance, reporting, and resource allocation according to grant conditions. Advanced communication skills and proficiency in digital marketing tools. Applicant Materials Required:
