Legislative Assistant
DFL Caucus
Full-time Legislative Assistant position with the DFL Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives provides a variety of office, legislative, and constituent service duties for assigned DFL members. Duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling, constituent services, some casework, and bill tracking.
Position requires excellent typing, spelling, and grammatical skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Position involves frequent public contact and regular communication with constituents, interested individuals, and legislative staff. Strong customer service and good communication skills required, as well as the ability to be self-directed and remain focused to achieve short- and long-term work goals. PC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word necessary.
Understanding of state government and the legislative process helpful, but not required. BA/BS desired.
This is a full-time, at-will position that works in person with the possibility of some interim remote work consistent with House policies and department needs. The House offers a competitive salary and opportunities for ongoing professional development. Starting classification and annual salary commensurate with relevant experience. Legislative Assistant I - IV range $48,034.80 - $118,249.44. The starting salary range for an entry-level Legislative Assistant I is generally between $48,034.80 and $52,838.40 depending on relevant experience.
