Research Specialist
DFL Caucus
Research Department
Full-time temporary Research Specialist position with the DFL Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives to provide research and administrative support for House DFL Research and DFL members of the House. The position will start in February and last approximately 4-5 months.
Duties include formatting, proofing, editing, copying, and distributing bill summaries and other legislative materials produced by DFL Research staff during the legislative session. Duties also include overseeing written products produced during the legislative interim as well as coordinating requests for information from DFL members and communicating with other offices in the DFL Caucus. We expect this position to cover the Rules Committee for DFL Research.
Position requires excellent formatting, writing and editing skills, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Working knowledge of the legislative process is essential to effectively function in this position. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours. BA/BS required.
This is an hourly, at-will position that works in person. Benefits include earned sick and safe time, paid holidays based on hours worked, and earned non-exempt overtime. Starting classification and hourly rate commensurate with relevant experience. Research Specialist hourly range is $28.35-$51.02 per hour commensurate with experience. The starting salary range for an entry-level Research Specialist is generally between $28.35 and $31.19 per hour, depending on relevant experience.
